Machine Part Replacement Schedule

  • Water Chamber: Every 3-6 months
  • Hose: Every 3-6 months
  • Filter: Every 1-3 months

Daily Cleaning: Empty and rinse out the water chamber, then hang your CPAP hose to air dry.

Weekly Cleaning: Wash the water chamber and hose in gentle soap and warm water. Use a tube brush to gently scrub the inside and outside of your hose. Allow each part to fully air dry before reassembling.

Dishwasher Safety: Machine parts should not be washed in the dishwasher.

Air Filter Cleaning: The disposable air filter that comes with your order should not be washed.

Mask Compatibility: This machine is compatible with all standard CPAP masks, except for masks that are designed specifically to pair with the AirMini.

Hose Compatibility: The AirSense 11 is compatible with universal standard-size hoses (22mm diameter), Resmed's SlimLine hose (15mm diameter), and the ClimateLineAir heated hose. It is not compatible with the hose that comes with the AirSense 10.

AirSense 10 Compatibility: AirSense 11 features a very different design compared to the AirSense 10. AirSense 10 hoses, filters, water chambers, and power sources are not compatible with the AirSense 11.

Climate Control Notice: The AirSense 11's Climate Control feature cannot be used without the ClimateLineAir 11 heated tubing, which is not included with this product and must be purchased separately.

SmartStart/Stop Notice: SmartStart/Stop may not work correctly when paired with a nasal pillow mask at pressures below 7 cm H₂O. If it is not working, you can toggle it off in your machine settings.

FAQs about the ResMed AirSense 11

Find answers to common questions about the ResMed AirSense 11, including setup, features, maintenance, and troubleshooting tips.

Learn how this advanced CPAP machine improves sleep therapy comfort and delivers personalized treatment for better sleep health.

How loud is the AirSense 11?

The ResMed AirSense 11 delivers peaceful, whisper-quiet therapy at just 27 decibels. Sound levels can be affected by your mask fit and hose connection, but with proper setup, most users find their bed partners don't even notice it running. For the quietest experience, we recommend ensuring your mask fits properly and checking that your humidifier and hose is securely connected.

Does the AirSense 11 automatically adjust pressure?

Yes, the AirSense 11 AutoSet CPAP senses your breathing patterns and adjusts therapy pressure throughout the night. It offers three therapy modes to match your needs:

  1. AutoSet: Automatically responds to sleep events, providing exactly the pressure you need.
  2. AutoSet for Her: Designed specifically for women, featuring more gradual pressure changes.
  3. CPAP: Maintains one consistent pressure level throughout the night.

Your comfort comes first, with features like AutoRamp™ that starts at a lower pressure until you fall asleep, and EPR™ that makes breathing out more natural by lowering pressure when you exhale.

If you're sensitive to pressure changes, AutoSet Response lets you choose gentler adjustments. Monitor how your device adapts to your needs using the myAir™ app.

Should I upgrade to a heated hose for the AirSense 11?

Upgrading to a heated hose can help provide a more consistent therapy experience regardless of seasonal changes or location. If you find yourself traveling to a different climate, a heated hose can help you maintain the same therapy you had at home.

If you experience the collection of condensation in your CPAP hose that drips down onto your face and wakes you up, also known as CPAP rainout, a heated hose can help prevent condensation buildup, allowing you to sleep through the night.

With a ClimateLineAir 11 Heated Tube, you’ll also be able to utilize the AirSense 11’s auto climate control settings, which automatically detect the ambient room temperature and supply the optimal humidification for your sleep setting.

You may want one if you:

- Experience dry mouth or throat
- Notice water droplets in your tube
- Use humidification regularly
- Live in a cold or dry climate

You might not need one if you:

- Live in a humid climate
- Don't use the humidifier
- Keep your bedroom warm
- Are comfortable with your current setup

Many of our customers find the heated hose adds noticeable comfort to their therapy, particularly in winter. If cost is a concern, a CPAP hose cover provides similar benefits at a lower price point.

Is the AirSense 11 compatible with all CPAP masks?

Yes, the ResMed AirSense 11 works with any CPAP mask using the standard 22mm connection, regardless of brand. For optimal performance and full feature access, we recommend using our curated selection of ResMed AirSense 11 Masks.

Important notes:

  • All standard CPAP masks will connect and function
  • ResMed masks maximize device features and performance
  • Some features (like SmartStop) work best with specific masks
  • Magnetic masks require precautions for users with medical implants

For complete mask compatibility details, see ResMed's official list.

Is the AirSense 11 Filter the same as Airsense 10?

TheAirSense 11air filterhas a different design and is not interchangeable with theAirSense 10filter.
